This is the last precision component in the fuel path. Everything upstream exists to deliver clean fuel at stable pressure; this unit decides when combustion starts and how completely the charge burns. That is why injector condition shows up so directly in noise, smoke and emissions.
Watch for hard hot starting, uneven idle, visible smoke, a misfire that clears when the engine is revved, and consumption creeping up without any change in operating conditions.

Always fit new copper sealing washers and seals — used washers rarely seal a second time — and where the system requires injector classification or IQA codes, have them programmed to the ECU after fitting.
