28307309 is supplied as a remanufactured replacement common rail injector. Cross-reference numbers: 28307309, A6510703087. Application recorded for this part: Fits Mercedes-Benz — 2.2 CDI. An injector is a high-speed valve. It has to hold back rail pressure, then open and close within a fraction of a crankshaft degree — several times per cycle on pilot-injection engines. Anything that alters opening behaviour, whether it is carbon on the tip, a worn needle or a tired solenoid, changes how the cylinder burns its charge. Typical signs are poor starting hot or cold depending on whether the unit is weeping or sticking, an idle that hunts or sounds uneven, smoke under acceleration, and sometimes a smell of diesel in the oil where an injector is leaking internally. It costs little to confirm the diagnosis first. Compare return flow between cylinders and cut each injector in turn on a scan tool; if one cylinder makes no difference to running quality, that is your culprit. Fitment notes: injectors on the same engine wear together. Replacing only the failed unit often leaves the others close behind, and a single new injector reading differently from its neighbours will cause exactly the rough running you were trying to fix. Replacing as a matched set avoids that. Always fit new copper sealing washers and seals — used washers rarely seal a second time — and where the system requires injector classification or IQA codes, have them programmed to the ECU after fitting. How we build it: the unit is fully disassembled, cleaned and measured, not simply resealed. Wear items — seals, springs, and where clearance is out of specification the plunger and barrel or nozzle assemblies — are replaced rather than reused. Sealing faces and bores are re-machined back to original clearances, then the unit is calibrated and run on a bench with delivery, return flow, opening pressure and leakage recorded. Anything outside specification does not ship. Test sheets for your specific units are available on request. Covered by a 12-month warranty.
